Traffic online is having people come to your website to view the pages, and the more people that come to your website the more people are likely to sign up for your list. Everything on the Internet is about driving traffic. Traffic is what build’s your list, traffic is what generates sales, and a lot more, but without it you have no business. You can also purchase traffic with pay per click, the more you pay a higher quality traffic you get, and the less you pay the lower quality traffic you get.

There are many effective forms of traffic generation, but each of them must be managed correctly to be profitable. For example, if you are buying a low-cost volume type of traffic and your cost per visitor is less than a tenth of a cent, then you can have a very low conversion rate (percentage of visitors who purchase from you) and still generate a profit. If, on the other hand, you are paying $3 per visitor that comes to your site, then, for example, on a $99 product, your breakeven point is 33 visitors. That is a 3% conversion rate (considered high online). So to be in profit you would need to have a conversion rate of better than 3% to traffic your way to wealth.

Generating strong traffic sources is critical to the success of your web site. Not matter how strong is your sales page, how effective your close, or how wonderful your product, if you don’t have traffic, no one knows it. And if no one sees your product, no one will purchase it.

The quality of your traffic is also paramount. Low quality traffic such as guaranteed traffic, exit traffic, pop-up traffic, or pop-under traffic generally produce very low returns. Managed correctly, these sources of traffic can create a positive return on investment, but in most cases you will need more qualified traffic to make sales.
